The Department of Social Services has released the Guide to Aged Care Law. This Guide replaces the Residential Care Manual.
In consultation with aged care stakeholders, the Guide to Aged Care Law has been developed as an online resource. It is designed to be an easy-to-use, plain-English text to assist approved providers in understanding their responsibilities and obligations under the Aged Care Act 1997.
It provides the latest information relating to updates to the Aged Care Act 1997 and its subordinate legislation and will provide information relating to:
- residential care
- home care
- flexible care
- residential respite care.
The Residential Care Manual is still available for historical purposes, but no further updates of the manual are scheduled.
